There Is Never Victory Without Sacrifice

True leaders are willing to sacrifice for a cause and calling
far beyond their own personal comforts and needs.

Sacrifice.

Not a popular word or concept in today’s culture.

But irrespective of its lack of popularity, it’s an absolute necessity for achievement.

The etymology of the word sacrifice traced to its origins is “to make sacred.”

What is most sacred in your life?

Regardless of what you state, your continuous actions answer the question truly and honestly.

You see, we all make sacrifices.

For example, when relationships are done correctly, a person sacrifices sexual variety and promiscuity for monogamy and commitment.

Some biologist argue that this is contrary to our nature—especially for the male of the species; and nature seems to bear this out in most cases.

Sacrifice was originally defined as to make sacred.
What are you willing to lay on the altar of life
for a cause and calling that’s much grander and greater?
There’s always a price for the prize.

When entrepreneurship and building a business is done correctly, the entrepreneur and business leader sacrifices vacations, weekends, sleep and lesser personal desires for his major heart’s desire.

The 22 Imperatives of Leadership: #6 – Leaders Are Selfless

Anything less is not true desire.

Many say they “want” something bigger and bolder in their life and business.

Many say they want to “make an impact and change the world.”

It all sounds so important and sexy and exciting doesn’t it?

Well it’s not!

Ask Siddhartha Gautama, The Christian prophet, Gandhi, MLK, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and many others.

Making a true impact is hard; and it’s often painful. In many of the cases of the leaders mentioned above, it took their very life.

Many think they can make an impact on the world with little pain,
suffering or sacrifice. Think again.
Ask Siddhartha, The Christian Prophet, Gandhi,
MLK, Mandela, da Vinci. Michelangelo, Jobs, Bezos, Musk
or countless others.
It takes everything you have;
and even then, that’s often not enough.

Okay James, you might think, I get it. I’m willing to sacrifice everything—”accept this one thing.”

Nope. Sorry. You don’t get it.

When you find your true cause and calling, when you gain clarity on your Powerful Transforming Purpose (PTP), there are no exceptions.

There is no “everything but this one thing.”

It’s all or nothing.

That’s true leadership.

And it’s rare.

I’m not here to tell you what your cause and calling are. I’m not qualified to do that.

I’m here to remind you that you have one. Whether you’re consciously aware of it or not.

Most aren’t.

Most never will be.

But you have this calling nonetheless; and your life will never be truly fulfilling until you find it and sacrifice everything for it.

As we move forward at Mach 10 in our world, your life is obviously not getting any longer.

When would NOW be the time to find that cause and calling and give yourself completely to it?

Tick Tock

Your Move.

Be a Leader. Live Your Purpose; and Take Your Power Back!
